Very intense exercise-training is extremely potent and time efficient

Very intense exercise-training is extremely potent and time efficient: a reminder -- Coyle 98 (6): 1983 -- Journal of Applied Physiology: "...All-out sprint training especially stresses recruitment and adaptation of type II (i.e., fast twitch) muscle fibers that are remarkably and equally responsive as type I (i.e., slow twitch) muscle fibers in their ability to increase mitochondrial enzyme activity to high absolute levels (4, 5, 7). In fact, the low-intensity aerobic exercise that is typically prescribed for endurance training or health is not very effective at increasing aerobic enzyme activity in type II muscle fibers, which comprise approximately one-half of the fibers within the thigh (vastus) and calf (gastrocnemius) muscle in most people (6). Thus low-intensity aerobic training is not a very effective or efficient method for maximizing aerobic adaptations in skeletal muscle because it generally does not recruit type II muscle fibers. The present report by Burgomaster et al. (2) provides a reminder of the effectiveness of sprint interval training, performed three times per week, and it demonstrates that large increases in aerobic enzyme activity and aerobic performance capacity previously measured after 7–8 wk (6) can occur after as little as 2 wk and only six sessions."

This is for those of you, who were wondering what type of cardio I perform and recommend...Note that type II muscle fibers are those, which we aim at to increase in size in the sport of bodybuilding!!

Very detailed and informative, just the way I need them. Yeah, I'm planning on adding sprints to my training routine. I really need that boost and I know that it will really help me out in my progress. Thanks for the information.

No problem. Count on me for some good info. What is coming is even more applicable to the sport of natural bb but.. check it out in a day and then keep coming back regularly.

On your question about which whey protein. Drop the muscle tech supps right now. I don't even want to duscuss those. From the other two the CytoPro WPI looks pretty decent but it doesn't say for what quantity you pay that price. The Designer whey doesn't appeal. To be honest I get scared when I see a large ingredients list on the nutrition facts label. What I would do is I'd go to proteinfactory.com and get their CFM Whey Isolate as an individual powder. If that sounds too bland you can click on 'Custom Formulas' and follow the steps to add a flavour and a sweetener (i recommend only stevia). You can also get some hemp protein from them to mix with your whey if you need to supplement during the day.
Well, I hope that helps. Let me know.

Hey Ivan,

Thank you so much! I took your advice and went to proteinfactory.com and found a CFM Whey Isolate as an individual powder. I read everything it stated about the supplement and I e-mailed it to you as an attachment so you can check it out. Can you please make sure for me that it is the one which you are talking about? Now, I know so much more about whey protein powder, especially CFM, thanks to you. I just want to let you know that you help me so much. You've made a big difference in my life and it's one of the best because I have you to learn from and to find out more about the things that I truly care about. Bodybuilding, nutrition, health, fitness, etc. Back to the whey, I'm really going to try and get it to supplement with. I know that if people read this, yeah, they will definitely benefit. You answer everything that I ask very thouroghly and provide such helpful information that I do use. I'm on to read your other blogs, so expect some more feedback and comments. ;-)Your e-mails and responses are also touching. You show me that you care and are there to help. That's an important thing and it means so much to me. Thanks!

Thanks Jess. Well, yes, this is the protein I was talking about. If it isn't too expensive for you go ahead and purchase it. You have to keep in mind, however, that CFM whey is always expensive. So, if on a given whey protein formula you see CFM whey and just concentrated and it seems the by the price that it's very affordable you should know that this is mainly just concentrate whey and a little bit of CFM whey if any.
Btw. this whole thing reminds me that I am running out of whey and I have to go in there and order myself..
